Hurtwave - Sever Review

Hurtwave, the new project from Rory Rodriguez and Mike Karle of Dayseeker, released their brand-new single Sever today as the first of seven installments that will make up their debut album Night Therapy I and it is everything you didn’t know you needed.

I am a firm believer that Rory Rodriguez could sing anything, and it would be beautiful, but he is at his absolute best when he takes a softer, soulful approach like on this song. In a post about the release, Rory gives the inspiration for the song, “I wrote this song about a woman who continuously strung me along for years but never fully wanted to cut ties and let me move past her”.

It’s no wonder that Rory can create something so tragically beautiful on this track. It’s a dreamy, swaying trip over the clouds brewing the storm just below. Make sure you check this new single out and check out the Hurtwave Instagram page today!
