It often takes time and patience to perfect any type of art. Formed in 2012, the metalcore band In Honor Of the band have spent their time constantly evolving. The band have since released two EPs in 2013 and 2016 before getting a new vocalist in 2017. With this change they have found a new sound and they hope to change the way heavy music is viewed with their new music that will be released later this year.

The Q & A
Interview by
Rickelle Lee Tavares
Where is the band based out of?
We’re mainly based out of North Haven, CT but we have members in Western MA and cities around North Haven, CT.
What made you come up with the name In Honor Of?
It came out of no where honestly, Dave just randomly said it and we all collectively liked it.
Whats the ideal tour package you guys would like to hop on?
Northlane, Veil of Maya & Oceans Ate Alaska.
Who are some artists that influenced your sound?
Northlane, Periphery & Architects
How long have you guys been a band?
We formed in 2012, so its been 5yrs.
What are some goals you all hope to achieve this year?
Just to put out some sick music and tour!
Who has the dankest meme’s in the band?
Bobby for sure. He always has a stock of the best meme’s.
If you had a choice of a label to sign to which would it be and why?
Sharptone, they’ve been really killing the music scene lately, all their tours and artists are always on point. We see them growing and would like to be a part of it.
What do we have to look forward from you guys this year?
We’ve been working really hard on a brand new album with our new lineup. We hope with the release that we are able to tour and meet some new people.
Collectively what is your personal favorite song you have written so far?
As of right now our current favorite will be our upcoming single we’re going to be releasing very soon.
Whats your favorite show that you’ve played, what made it your favorite?
Probably on 10.13.17, it was our second show in New Hampshire we ever played, but it felt like we were playing a home show. It was just great to be in a completely different state and see such a great crowd response. It was a sick show.
If you had to choose one album to listen to for an entire tour what would it be?
Node by Northlane! Anytime I listen to it I listen to it in full.
Whats the best venue to play in Connecticut?
Definitely The Webster, its one of the best venues we have and both stages are tight to play.
As far as fans go, how important are they to you?
After being happy with our music, they’re the most important thing to us. Bands couldn’t be bands without the support they get from their fans, they play a huge role.
In your local scene what bands are your favorites to play shows with?
Half Hearted, they’re super fun to play shows with. Also Currents, they’re always on tour but when we get a chance to play together its always tight.
