Florida natives A Day to Remember set out on a headlining tour to support their upcoming album “You’re Welcome”. I was fortunate enough to have caught them November 14 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

If you have attended an A Day to Remember show, you can agree that the experience leaves you captivated and wanting more. Between their stage presence and the production, the show is eye catching with added confetti, smoke and pyro located behind drums. The opening song immediately gets your heart racing with anticipation as vocalist Jeremy McKinnon lets out the iconic “LET’S GO” of “The Downfall of us all”. The crowd was zealous from the support acts Beartooth and I Prevail. The expressions on fan faces was exhilarating and inspiring. The five-piece band left the fans astounded mid set by preforming snippets of Lit’s “My Own Worst Enemy”. While leaving an unforgettable experience for fans this was the moment that Jeremy asked fans to crowd surf.

On June 14 the band released a new song with artist Marshmello called “Rescue Me” Although he was not present, the band made it feel like he was with them with his iconic Marshmello head projected up behind the band, lighting up with the same colors to correspond with the house lighting.

A personal favorite of the night was hearing the new single “Degenerates”, off the upcoming album “You’re Welcome”. We here at Varsity Music Magazine are anxious to hear the rest of the new album in the coming months. The band’s crew made sure to keep the fun flowing by throwing out inflatable balls into the crowd.

The show ended with a fan favorite “I’m Made of Wax, Larry. What Are You Made Of?” After the music ended, the crowd began to become silent as the lights turned off. A roar came over the crowd “ONE MORE SONG”, “ONE MORE SONG”. It felt like we were all standing in complete darkness for 2-3 minutes. Jeremy appeared back on stage, he began to tell the crowd “The backstage workers told us you guys wanted to hear one more song…well we’re not going to play one more song…We’re going to play THREE”. The audience was electrified with smiles and cheering. The first encore song was “If It Means A lot to you”; everyone pulled out a lighter or illuminated their phones and lit up the room. The beauty was wholehearted and emotionally moving. The encore song that officially ended the night was “The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle”. During the performance, a woman dressed as a fairy was shooting out t-shirts out of a cannon, simultaneously while toilet paper rolls went flying in multiple directions.

The night was unforgettable and left us anticipating the release of the new album.
